Supporting Lasting Improvements in Care

All of our clinical review services have a corresponding training package for GP teams, to provide a legacy of quality improvement. All programs are run with our team making recommendations that are in line with local formulary and guidelines, the purpose of the programs is to:

  • Improve patient outcomes
  • Support greater access to treatment and review
  • Educate GP teams
  • Promote cost-effective prescribing in line with local guidelines
  • Enhance the value of medicines to the patient and local healthcare economy

We have a number of therapy areas in which we can support General Practice and PCN objectives. Funding is provided in line with the ABPI code of conduct via the Pharma industry to support patient care, with options for grants to support programs in the following areas:

  • Diabetes reviews
  • Respiratory reviews in patients with asthma
  • Improving emollient prescribing
  • Optimising management of dry eye
  • Continence care – with nurse support to ensure that patients are supported in the community
  • Improving pain management with a focus upon transdermal pain relief step of the ladder
  • Review of prescribing in bone health
  • Optimising prescribing in Inflammatory bowel disease

We also have a diabetes program launching in June 2022, to support the intensification of patients across oral and injectable therapies with some nice innovative pieces to support pharmacists to take on more of a role within the diabetes care picture
